The objective of this Parental Code of Conduct is to implant firmly in the parents, the children, and the OLOH school community the importance of good sportsmanship, respect for authority, and to emphasize and promote our core Catholic Christian values during and in relation to sporting programs and events related to OLOH Regional School and the OLOH Athletic Association.

I hereby pledge the following:

I will

  • Remember that children participate to have fun and that sports are for children, not adults.
  • Be respectful of officials and their authority during games, and not confront officials regarding their decisions, and demand that my children and guests do the same, and comply with this Code of Conduct.
  • Demand that my child treat other players, coaches, and officials with respect, regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, or ability.
  • Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all children, coaches, and officials at every program, event, practice, or game.
  • Place the emotional and physical well being of my children and the other children ahead of any personal desire to win.
  • Insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment, free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and I will refrain from their use at programs or events.
  • Cooperate with the Athletic Board and its members regarding any telephone calls or inquiries made regarding incidents or alleged violations of this Code of Conduct.
  • Attempt to resolve conflicts without hostility or violence, and if they are not resolved, I will address them to the Athletic Association or Administration and will not take matters into my own hands.
  • Abide by and accept any decision by the Athletic Board and OLOH Administration which forbids or bans my presence from attending any event(s) or program(s), or which conditions future or subsequent attendance.
  • Refrain from coaching my children during a practice or a game, unless I am a coach.

I will not:

  • Engage in verbal or physical threats, abuse, or assault, directly or indirectly against my children or other children, parents, coaches, officials, spectators, Athletic Board Members or OLOH Administration, in any way, shape or form.
  • Engage in unsportsmanlike conduct, ridicule or yell at my child or other children.
  • Initiate any fight or scuffle with any person including but not limited to children, parents, coaches, officials, spectators, Athletic Board Members or OLOH Administration, in any way, shape or form.
  • Commit any act or conduct at or related to OLOH Athletic Association and its programs and events which is not consistent with Catholic and Christian values.
  • Engage in any act or conduct which is in violation of New Jersey law, including New Jersey’s Violent Fan’s Law, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1, et. seq.
  • By my signature below I do indicate that I have read, understand, and agree to abide by the terms of this Parental Code of Conduct.
